It all started in the early 1980’s as a small family fundraising event put on by the Lung Family at their family farm, as a way to raise funds for the newly established Youth Sports Organization in the town of Williamsburg, Ohio. Hundreds of people would show up every October to venture down the small haunted trail. In 1986 the fundraiser was moved to the youth sports complex and the WJAA Haunted Woods was officially born.

What started as just a simple fundraiser on a family farm has now become one of the premier Haunted Attractions on the East Side of Cincinnati. Every year in October over 2,000 people venture into the WJAA Haunted Woods for a 45 minute terrifying walk. The experience includes a hayride to and from the woods, concessions, a bonfire to set the mood, and much more. The WJAA Haunted Woods has attracted many people from out of state and even celebrities! We are one of the best Haunts in the State of Ohio. What makes the WJAA Haunted Woods stand out from other attractions are the actors. All volunteers who dedicate their time and money to provide the best experience possible for all that dare to walk through the woods. At any given time you will encounter up to 100 actors in the woods ranging from Killer Clowns, Zombies, Classic American Horror Characters, Chainsaw welding Psychos, Evil Spirits, Serial Killers, Cult Members, Deranged Carnies, and many more. Not only will you have to navigate the eerie trails of the woods at night with your group, you will be forced to pass through narrow pathways, spongy decomposing floors, a dizzying tunnel, and moving bridges. 

We also offer a Kids Daytime Tour one Saturday during the day while we are open. We host a costume contest, offer face painting and other kid friendly activities before we load up on the wagons and go back into the woods for trick or treating with the creatures of the woods. This is very laid back and kid friendly, and everyone will be out of the woods before nightfall.
